Your job as a mil spouse is already hard enough. We want to make it a little bit easier.

We’re so happy you’re here!

It was not too long ago that Natalie and I were sitting in a Virginia Olive Garden — eating bottomless soup, salad and bread sticks, naturally — when we realized we had a shared dream.

A new mom, Natalie was transitioning from being a full-time, in-the-office reporter at Military Times to the work-from-home mom and freelance lifestyle. She had a desire to start a podcast for military spouses.

I was (and still am) working at Military Times, and had finished grad school and an entrepreneurial journalism class, where I had presented my final class project on an idea close to my heart: a news outlet for military spouses.

When we realized our visions and desire to serve military spouses could go hand-in-hand, it was off to the races.

Both of us children of service members (my dad was an A-10 pilot in the United States Air Force; Natalie’s dad served in the Army), we saw our military spouse mothers and the strength, perseverance, brains and brawn that went into keeping our families afloat. We also saw the support system that they needed to keep us all thriving.

Here at The Spouse Angle, our mission is simple: to support military spouses and their families by delivering timely, accurate, thought-provoking and informative news in the form of digital news content and our weekly podcast. Your job as a mil spouse is already hard enough. We want to make it a little bit easier.

If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to our podcast on Apple or Spotify and pretty much any other place you listen to podcasts. And follow us on Facebook to keep track of all our upcoming news coverage.

We’re here to help and are always open to feedback, tips and story ideas as we look to better support you.

Thank you, military spouses, for all you do. We know that you don’t hear it enough. And thanks for joining our community at The Spouse Angle. We’re so glad you’re here.

xo,

Andrea Scott
