The Spouse Angle was started in 2019, first as a podcast and then a broader digital news outlet, to bring trusted, relevant news to military spouses and their families.

NATALIE GROSS

Natalie Gross is host, producer & co-founder of The Spouse Angle podcast, combining her experiences as an Army brat with her training as a journalist. Each week, she brings on expert guests to dissect current events from a military perspective, sharing stories that affect the military community personally in a format that’s easy to listen to on the go.

When she’s not hosting the podcast, Natalie freelances for various news outlets. She previously covered military and veterans’ issues for Military Times and has also worked as a local news reporter in New Mexico and Texas. Her stories have appeared on the Armed Forces Network and in The Washington Post Magazine, The Atlantic, The Christian Science Monitor, Military Families Magazine and elsewhere.

Natalie has a master’s degree in journalism from Georgetown University and lives near Washington, D.C., with her husband and children.

ANDREA SCOTT

Andrea Scott is co-founder & editor of The Spouse Angle, where she brings her passion for military families by guiding content and driving news engagement.

After growing up in a military family, her two younger brothers followed in dad’s footsteps in flying for the United States Air Force.

Andrea also works as Marine Corps Times’ editor, where she leads a team of reporters and newsroom production in some of the best news coverage of the United States Marine Corps. She also hosts a weekly American Forces Network television broadcast for Military Times and Defense News called, “Defense News Weekly.”  

A writer and an editor, Andrea has had her work published by Chicago magazine, Philanthropy magazine, PBS, the Armed Forces Network, The War Horse, Nurse Week magazine, Nokia and more.

A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, Andrea also earned a master’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington.

In her spare time she coaches high school girls track and cross country.
