Lance Cpl. Stephen Stewart/DVIDS

The latest results of the annual Blue Star Families Military Family Lifestyle Survey are out, revealing the top concerns for service members and their spouses.

Among survey respondents who are part of active-duty families, the top five are:

  1. Military spouse employment

  2. Amount of time away from family

  3. Children’s education

  4. Relocation/PCS issues

  5. Military pay

Separations and their impact on the family were the top two concerns for both Reserve and National Guard respondents. These respondents also listed civilians’ understanding of military/veteran issues in their top five.

The survey was fielded in 2021 and received more than 8,000 responses.
